Celebrating Success: The First Nations Edition of She Codes Australia

On September 21, we proudly hosted the inaugural First Nations edition of She Codes Australia, an event that marked a significant milestone in promoting inclusivity and diversity in the tech community. In partnership with the City of Perth, this workshop was a day filled with learning, connection, and creativity.

Participants, ranging from complete beginners to those looking to enhance their skills, gathered in a welcoming environment designed to foster growth and collaboration. With hands-on workshops focused on building websites and games, attendees embraced the chance to expand their tech knowledge while enjoying a friendly atmosphere complete with free lunch and delicious cupcakes.

The event also provided invaluable networking opportunities, allowing participants to engage with industry professionals and like-minded women. This connection is essential for nurturing a supportive community and encouraging future collaborations.

At Garlett Group, we are dedicated to empowering Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities through tailored digital solutions and training. Our commitment to fostering a more diverse tech industry is at the heart of our work. The success of this workshop is a testament to our shared vision of inclusivity and innovation.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all our partners, mentors and participants who made this event possible. Together, we are not just building skills but paving the way for a brighter, more inclusive future in tech. We can’t wait for the next chapter in this exciting journey!
