On December 12, we had the pleasure of discussing the future of Australia’s clean energy in Naarm (Melbourne) at the Climate Integrity Dialogue.
The one-day event hosted by Transparency International, brought together industry, civil society, and government stakeholders to discuss the significance of good governance and reducing corruption risks in the energy transition.
Director Emma Garlett presented on a round table discussion titled Empowering Voices: First Nations, Women, and Community Participation in the Energy Transition-Climate Integrity Dialogue.
She was joined by an esteemed panel:
- Deborah Fulton, Group Manager, Country, Culture and Connection, The National Indigenous Australians Agency-NIAA
- Jonathan Kneebone, Director of Policy and Engagement, First Nations Clean Energy Network
- Sam Szoke-Burke, Biodiversity Policy and Campaign Manager, Wilderness Society
Garlett shared her insights into Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) as it pertains to First Nations interests and stakeholders in mining, Traditional Owner engagement, and decarbonisation.
